The rules that keep Pivot fair, safe and predictable for every player and venue. Plain language wherever possible.
The short version: Pivot connects players with venues. Venues set their own court prices, opening hours and cancellation rules. We process payments and provide the technology. Don't break the rules, treat people with respect, and you'll have a good time.
These Terms of Service ("Terms") form a legally binding agreement between you and Pivot Sports Pty Ltd (ABN to be advised) ("Pivot", "we", "us"). By creating an account, booking a court, or otherwise using the Pivot Sports platform — including bookpivot.com, our mobile apps, and any related services (the "Platform") — you agree to these Terms.
If you're using the Platform on behalf of an organisation (a venue, club or business), you confirm that you're authorised to bind that organisation to these Terms.
If you don't agree, please don't use the Platform.
Pivot is a software platform that helps:
Pivot is the technology — we're not the venue, the coach, or the other player. The actual court hire, lesson or game is delivered by the venue. We're not responsible for the condition of facilities, the conduct of other users, or the quality of any service provided by a venue.
You must be at least 16 years old to create a Pivot account. If you're under 18, you confirm that your parent or guardian has reviewed these Terms and agrees to them on your behalf.
You're responsible for keeping your login details secure and for all activity that happens under your account. Don't share your password. Tell us straight away at hello@bookpivot.com if you suspect unauthorised access.
The information you provide must be accurate and kept up to date — wrong contact details mean missed booking confirmations, refunds and important service messages.
When you confirm a booking through Pivot, you enter into an agreement directly with the venue. Pivot facilitates that booking but is not a party to it.
Each venue sets its own cancellation policy, which is shown clearly during checkout and on your booking confirmation. Typical policies are:
Pivot honours the venue's published policy. If you have a special circumstance (illness, injury, weather), contact the venue directly first; venues often have flexibility for genuine cases.
Repeated no-shows may result in the venue suspending your ability to book, in line with their venue rules.
All payments on the Platform are processed by Stripe Payments Australia Pty Ltd. By providing your payment details, you authorise us to charge the applicable amount through Stripe. Stripe's terms apply alongside ours.
Prices include GST where applicable. The price you see at checkout is the price you pay — no surprise fees.
Refunds for cancelled bookings are processed back to your original payment method within 5–10 business days, in accordance with the relevant venue's cancellation policy.
If something has gone wrong with a charge, please contact us at billing@bookpivot.com before raising a chargeback. Most issues can be sorted out quickly.
If you're a venue using Pivot, the following extra terms apply.
Pivot offers tiered subscription plans (currently Free, Standard, and Pro) plus a per-booking fee where applicable. Plan inclusions and pricing are set out at bookpivot.com/pricing and may be varied with 30 days' notice.
Subscriptions auto-renew monthly or annually unless you cancel through your account dashboard before the renewal date.
If you're booking courts, joining games, or finding partners through Pivot, you also agree that:
While using Pivot, you must not:
We can suspend or close accounts that breach this section without notice if necessary to protect users or the Platform.
Pivot owns or licenses all intellectual property in the Platform — including software, designs, the "Pivot" name and logo, copy and visual assets. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the Platform for its intended purpose while you have a valid account.
You retain ownership of content you upload (venue photos, descriptions, profile information). By uploading, you grant Pivot a worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, display and distribute that content as needed to run the Platform.
The Platform is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the extent permitted by law, we don't guarantee that:
Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts or modifies any consumer guarantee, right or remedy that you have under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL) or any other law that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Subject to those guarantees and to the maximum extent permitted by law:
You may close your account at any time from your account settings or by emailing hello@bookpivot.com.
We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these Terms, fail to pay fees, or use the Platform in a way that risks harm to other users or to Pivot. Where reasonable, we'll give you notice and an opportunity to fix the issue first.
Some clauses survive termination — including liability, IP and dispute resolution.
These Terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia. You and Pivot submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Queensland.
Before going to court, both parties agree to first try to resolve any dispute by emailing hello@bookpivot.com with a clear description of the issue, and to participate in good-faith discussions for at least 30 days.
We may update these Terms from time to time as the Platform evolves. For material changes, we'll give you at least 14 days' notice by email or in-app notice before the new terms take effect. Continued use of the Platform after the effective date means you accept the changes. If you don't accept, you can close your account.
